āBecome a Foster
When you foster, you agree to take a homeless pet into your home and give him or her love, care and attention, either for a predetermined period of time or until the dog is adopted. Fostering a pet is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have (other than adopting, of course). By taking an animal in need temporarily into your home you’re:
-
giving your foster pet the time he/she needs to be ready for adoption
-
helping us learn more about the pet so he/she can end up in the best home possible
-
socializing the pet to a home environment and possibly getting him/her used to being around other pets and different types of people
As a foster, you:
-
Must be able to bring the animal to our veterinarian for vaccine boosters, de-worming, or any other medical treatment if necessary.
-
Must be able to transport animals to outside adoption events as needed.
-
Must be available to meet with potential adopters who wish to see the pet.
-
Pets residing in the home must be current on vaccines.
